2020 Teknos Writing Competition

SUMMARY 

Teknos is excited to host a writing competition for science writing! You may choose any topic, however, it MUST be related to STEM. There are two separate divisions; the first includes 9th and 10th grade submissions while the second is for 11th and 12th grade writing.

RULES & GUIDELINES

Word limit: 750-1500 words

Use APA to cite trustworthy sources formatted with square brackets (check the examples below).

Submit articles only (no heavily opinionated pieces).

When you submit, please make your Google Docs link sharing!

What are we looking for?

  • Scientific relevance/value

  • Clarity of explanation

  • Grammar/flow

  • Quality of sources

  • Is it interesting?

Here are some examples: A Bundle of iBeacons, Training Partners: Computer Chemistry, and Cost-Effective Chromatography.

DATES

Start Date: 07/17/2020

Submission Deadline: 08/07/2020

Results: 08/21/2020

PRIZES

The 1st place winner of each division will get an $25 Amazon gift card, and their work will be featured on the Teknos website.

The 2nd and 3rd place of each division will get a Teknos laptop sticker and their work may also possibly be featured on the website depending on quality and number of submissions.
